About Almudena

- What kind of experience do you have?

South Bank Center, English National Opera Colliseum, Ronnie Scotts, Auditorio Manuel de Falla, Sala MarÃa Cristina, Teatro de la ComÃ©die Clermond Ferrand among others.
She worked with artist like Steuart Bedford, Eduard Gardinier, Michael Stern, Sian Edwards, Jonh Paul Jones, to mention some.
Playing in orchestras such as London Mahler Orchestra, London Youth Symphony Orchestra, JanÃ¡Äek Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, ISSO – International Students Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble XXI, Academia de la Orquesta Ciudad de Granada.
Other music ensembles includes Sideris Quintet, Bardac Trio, Brotons Duo, London Sound Painting Orchestra to mention a few.

As a teacher I have always taught privately as it allows me to focus on the person, as it avoids only teaching for a short time or giving a programme which doesn't suit the student. I do didactic concerts as well, and with my quintet we won in 2011 a Competition for concert children in Holland at the ONWINGS Festival.

In the Conservatorio de Musica de Granada, Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi de Milano, Liceu de Barcelona and Trinity College of music with Juan Carlos Chornet, Bruno Cavallo, Julia Gallego, Wissam Boustany, Emmer McDonough and Sue Thomas, privately with Robert Winn. I studied under the Cordelia Mosses and Trinity Trust Scholarships.
I had also attended Masterclasses with Jacques Zoon, Juliette Hurel, Julia Gallego, JÃ¡nos Balint , Wil Offermans, Philip Bernold, Salvador Martin, Miguel Ãngel Angulo, Karen Jones, Sue Thomas, Andrea Liebernetch, Paul Edmund Davies...

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

No.

- Tell me about some of your current students.

My last students were from Spain (as I have been teaching there in the summer). I have taught adults older than me and children, the youngest was eight years old. I always have a little chat before the lessons to find out how the pupil is feeling about the work I set at the previous lesson. It is very important to know how a person is feeling regardless of the age, as music is such a personal thing.

About the lesson

I am an enthusiastic musician and teacher who just finished her Masters at Trinity College of Music. I teach every level at any age. I adapt my teaching to the needs of every person to reach every individual goal.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach flute or piccolo. I also teach Spanish as it is my first language.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a Bachelor of Music from the Conservatorio Superior de Granada, I postgraduate course at the Liceu de Barcelona and a PAD a Master in performance at Trinity College of Music.

On top of that I was awarded the â€œSpecial Awardâ€ at the British Flute Society Young Artist Competition. In the same year I was also a finalist at the Harold Clarke Woodwind Competition and the Jury Special Award on OnWings competition with the Sideris quintet in Holland 2011.

- How much do you charge?

I charge 25 pounds an hour and 30 pounds per one hour and a half hours.

- Where do you teach?

I teach in South East London but I can travel as well if the travel expenses are covered, just the train costs.

- When are you available?

I am available at different times, normally very early in the morning but if you are interested we can talk about my schedule and find a time suitable for both of us.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach every age and level.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

For all grades and diplomas till grade 8.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I encourage all my student to choose (if reasonable) their own way of working as well as the structure of the lesson. We set a timetable of technique adapted to every person aiming for development and success. As well as an introduction to extended techniques and breathing which would help avoid tension.
