About Luis
I moved to the United States from Bolivia, South America in 1981 at the age of 14. Learning English quickly became a necessity, and through determination and self-study, I achieved native fluency within just a few years. At the time, resources for English learners were limited, so I taught myself in order to succeed in school. As an adult, I’ve built a diverse career as a public speaker, image consultant, and professional photographer. I’ve also worked in telecommunications, banking, and higher education. My broad experience allows me to connect with students from many walks of life, and I believe it will benefit you as you advance your English skills. I’m passionate about the power of language. Mastery of English is a key to both personal growth and professional success, and I’m committed to helping you reach fluency—no matter your starting level. I hold a degree in Communications, a Master’s in Public Affairs, and a 240-hour TEFL/TESOL certification, including specialization in Business English. While I’ve only been formally teaching for a couple of years, I’ve spent over a decade helping clients improve their English through my consulting work. My teaching style is consultative, practical, and tailored to real-world situations—so you can immediately apply what you learn.
