- Do you have a personal message for students?

As someone who has personally benefited hugely from tuition, I understand how integral it is to have someone that isn't a parent or a teacher from school to elucidate certain aspects of the curriculum. A fresh way of explaining from someone who isn't a conventional authoritative figure can completely change the way a pupil views certain subjects. Having the luxury of one-to-one tuition is an advantage for students who might not be able to receive enough attention from teachers or have the confidence to ask questions in large classes at school.

When I tutor, I like to find out what specific aspect of the topic the pupil finds difficult and this is immediately tackled as once this is solved, it can usually illuminate other parts of the subject that previously seemed impenetrable. With previous pupils, once this perception of themselves as being “no good at XYZ” had clearly been challenged, their confidence increased and they were able to storm through past papers with the knowledge that they had overcome what they previously feared.

This is why my tuition is always tailored to the individual and my approach to tackling subjects is different with every pupil; what is similar is my commitment, perseverance and patience to each student.
