About Rajazz Blues
"Harmonica was passion from my childhood. In 2018 I started learning Saxophone and was progressing well, but then I came across Blues genre and I was more fascinated by seeing the performances of Bules Harmonica players like Aki Kumar, Adam Gussow and David Barrett. Later I discontinued Saxophone to give my full potential to learning Blues Harmonica. Covid-19 pandemic gave me ample opportunity to explore further in Blues, I leant from the great teachers/players like David Barrett, Adam Gussow, Ben Hewlett & Tomlin Leckie and advanced my skills to Advance Intermediate as of last year. And now I am steadily progressing on my Advance Skills with blessings from my mentors Tomlin, Adam & Aki Kumar." - Rajesh Shet

Learn more about Rajazz Blues
Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I loved listening to players like Sonny Boy, James Cotton, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Walter Horton, Sonny Terry, etc, and found blues music very addictive and stress relieving. Initially started learning from teachers like David Barrett, Ben Hewlett, Adam Gussow, and Tomlin Leckie and quickly learnt instruments the right way.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
For a reasonable part of my professional career, I have been teaching. After achieving Advanced Intermediate in Blues Harmonica, I started teaching my Son and a few friends who were keenly interested in playing Blues Harmonica. In the process, I developed a very effective teaching structure to teach the right techniques so that the students can pick up the right skills and at the same time maintain interest and motivation.
How does your work help society?
I donate part of the Fees to a local Trust that helps underprivileged children.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
My role model is a famous Blues Harmonica Player - Aki Kumar. He is a good friend of mine and I am his big fan. We exchange messages on social media and in common groups. We have many things in common as we hail from south India, we are from the Software IT profession, we both learnt from the same teacher David Barrett, etc.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
My other hobbies are Painting and playing Keyboard & Saxophone.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
As a Blues Harmonica Student, I was highly motivated and spent most of my spare time learning something new every day. In the process of learning, I have developed a well-structured approach to learn blues harmonica like musicians and gathered learning materials that can last a lifetime of learning.
