About Willie
I am a certified educator with more than 22 years of teaching experience. I hold certifications in Spanish (PreK-12), Elementary Education (PreK-6), and Library Media (PreK-12). My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, a Master of Information Systems, and doctoral studies in Leadership and Instruction in Online Education.
Throughout my career, I have worked with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles in both classroom and tutoring settings. I am passionate about helping students build confidence, develop strong academic skills, and achieve their personal learning goals.
As an educator, I believe that every student can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and instruction. I strive to create a positive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, taking risks, and growing as learners.

My teaching approach is personalized, interactive, and focused on helping students build confidence while achieving their individual goals. I begin by assessing each student's current level, strengths, and areas for growth so that lessons can be tailored to their specific needs. Whether a student is learning Spanish for school, preparing for exams, improving conversation skills, or simply learning for personal enrichment, I adapt instruction to support their success.
A typical lesson includes a review of previously learned concepts, guided practice, interactive activities, and opportunities to apply new skills in meaningful ways. Depending on the student's level and goals, lessons may include conversation practice, vocabulary development, reading comprehension, grammar instruction, listening activities, games, and real-world language applications. I also provide constructive feedback and strategies to help students continue improving between lessons.
What sets me apart is my more than 22 years of experience as a certified educator and my ability to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions. I believe learning should be engaging, positive, and enjoyable. My goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance, but also to develop confidence and a lifelong love of learning.
