About David

- What kind of experience do you have?

I am a language teacher at The Language Hall, London, where I lead immersion courses in English for clients from France. My approach is to teach English naturally in a similar way that we have all learned our native language. I generally avoid lengthy grammar study, except when necessary, and I focus on modelling in conversation, vocabulary building and repetition to teach in a way that is natural and effective.

I am an English tutor based in Ealing who specialises in teaching English as a Foreign Language. I focus on teaching English naturally in the same manner that every child learns their native language.

- How much do you charge?

My fees are £20/hour.

- Where do you teach?

I teach in Ealing. If you would like me to travel outside of Ealing, then I will require a £5 fee for travel expenses.

- When are you available?

Thursday and Friday are my main teaching days, but I can be available other days of the week if needed.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach all ages, from children to adults.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I can teach lessons online via skype. Please contact me if you'd like to arrange online lessons and I'll send you my contact details.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I have found that many people are intimidated by language learning, but this is not necessary. We all learned our first language very naturally and effortlessly, and this same approach can be used to learn a second language. I believe the first step is to not try to 'translate' and to try to think in the new language. The first steps at communication will most likely be crude and limited, but growth will come quickly if you let go of trying to translate thoughts from your native language and simply try to communicate in the new language.
