About Amy

Hi, I'm Amy - a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivating educator based in London. British born, I am a native English speaker and in addition to being a qualified teacher with PGCE and QTS status, I am also a qualified English as an Additional (EAL) teacher.

Compassionate and hardworking, I care deeply about supporting learners in achieving their goals. I am lucky to work in Inner City London, which has given me the opportunity to teach a range of pupils, with varying needs, attainment levels and personalities. In the day, I teach
a class of primary children in the evening / at weekends, I tutor adults and children in their goals. As a part of my role as a class teacher, I am the writing lead for my school and a moderator for the borough of London that I teach in, which means I have an strong sense of assessing students for learning and planning lessons to help bridge gaps.

The adults I tutor have had support in various ways, including learning to read and write in English, developing presentation and interview skills and building fluency in speaking and listening in Business English.

Prior to becoming a qualified teacher, I worked in fast paced industries built on creative briefs, clear communication and sharp deadlines, such as journalism and marketing. Beyond having a diverse and successful career, I have spent time in different countries, learning about the world and other people's cultures. I am interested in others and love meeting new people.

About the lesson

Lessons will be tailored to suit the individual's needs, but will always have aspects of retrieving prior knowledge, teaching new content, practise and application.

I build strong relationships with my students to help build their confidence and motivate them to reach their full potential.

Having taught a vast range of students, I am able to adapt content to suit the needs of the students, ensuring they make good progress towards acheiving their goals.
