About Thomas
Currently working for Davidson College as a French to English & English to French Translator, I've tutored others in French ( and English during my time in France) throughout my academic career. I attended The University of Maryland and L'Université de Nice Sophia-Antipolis in Nice, France. I’m hoping to take on additional introductory to advanced students starting July 2018

Ultimately, anyone learning a new language does so with the goal of communicating in said language-- my teaching style puts this mission at the forefront. To accomplish this I always try to create a space where students feel comfortable to make mistakes. Learning a new language takes time, and it takes even more time if you are scared to stumble!
My language lessons include equal parts learning and practicing. The first half is largely learning new material, asking questions about old material, and reviewing the trickiest aspects of tenses and conjugations, but the second half is (hopefully) far more fun! In this part we just chat. We'll talk about everything from the news to your upcoming vacation, and all the while your brain will be reinforcing your french conversational skills.
