High school dance is a subject that is deemed to be easy, but it is rather the opposite. It requires commitment, essay writing skills and continual revision, choreography and frequent practice. To tutor other students, I would first gain in depth knowledge of their style and goals. Then I will work with them by understanding the level of knowledge and skills of the student(s) to know which areas need improvement - from most to least. Practice is a massive key factor to achieving well, so I would teach and correct not only their physical performance but also the writing component of the course, which is just as important. I will then mark their work and provide constant feedback in order to keep improving their performance in the subject.
I will be studying Nursing at university starting next year. I have been a studio dancer for 14 years, my main styles include ballet, contemporary and jazz. I was appointed Dance Leader of my high school in 2018 and 2019 and have assisted many younger students in improving their skill and understanding. I selected Dance at school from years 9 and 10, then proceeded to choose HSC dance, which I was awarded the first rank in the cohort. I achieved a 90+ mark in all my assessments and again, topped the cohort. I'm extremely passionate about the subject and would be very keen to pass on my the tips, skill and knowledge I used to achieve the marks I received.
1) Partipation in HSC dance (ranking 1st)
2) Participation in year 9-10 elective dance (ranking 1st)
3) Dance Leader of my school in 2018 and 2019
4) Working as a martial arts teacher which enhanced my leadership skills
5) Engaged in studio pre-professional dancing for 14 years , participating in performances around the world
