About Anne

I have been teaching the flute for 5 years, working with High School, College students, and adults, and have successfully guided over 300 students. My teaching approach combines structured lessons with creative exercises and performance practice to ensure that students not only improve their technique but also enjoy the process of learning.

I focus on tone production, rhythm, music theory, technical exercises, and expressive playing while tailoring lessons to each student’s abilities and goals. I believe that learning music is as much about self-expression and confidence as it is about skill, so I encourage students to perform in recitals, competitions, and school or college events.

Many of my students have achieved significant progress, gaining confidence and skill that reflects their dedication. My philosophy is to create a nurturing, motivating environment where students feel inspired to practice, explore their creativity, and develop a lifelong love for music through the flute.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for flute is clear, practical, and focused on student growth. I believe strong communication and understanding how a student learns make flute learning effective and enjoyable. I begin by understanding the student’s level, goals, and learning style.

I explain flute fundamentals such as posture, breath control, embouchure, finger placement, tone quality, and rhythm in simple language. I encourage students to communicate openly so they feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their progress.

I use real-life musical examples and case studies from performances, recordings, and commonly heard music. This helps students understand how flute techniques are used in real musical situations and keeps learning interesting.

Along with flute lessons, I teach music theory, rhythm exercises, ear training, scale practice, sight reading, and basic improvisation. I also guide students on practice routines, musical expression, and performance confidence. My goal is to help students build strong fundamentals and enjoy their musical journey.
