About the lesson

I am currently an Adjunct Professor teaching Speech Communications at the City Colleges of Chicago. In 2011, I began as teaching in the Communications Department as a Teaching Assistant. In August of 2012, I graduated with my Master’s Degree in Communication and Training and have been continuously employed with the institution since that time. In May of 2016, I earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I have 18+ years Management and Educational Leadership Training Experience and I eagerly await new challenges while enjoying any opportunity that will allow me to integrate and utilize my skills effectively. However, skill alone is not enough; I believe that a willingness to continue pursuing educational goals in an ever-changing climate while enhancing oneself personally and professionally for the global job market is vital. My achievements and drive for helping others overall make me an excellent instructor.
The other highlights of my background that may be of interest include:
• Specific one-on-one instruction to higher education, high school and adult learners.
• Utilization of John Maxwell's Law of Intentionality.
• Advanced application of The Humanistic Approach to teaching. This methodology involves student centered instruction which pays attention to non-cognitive variables in learning such as: students' needs, emotions, values and self-perceptions.
