About Jamie

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have worked with various age groups and tutoring with school aged children and adults alike.
I am able to work in several musical styles and can tailor lessons to your personal taste in music.
I have worked in Scotland for 3 years in various live bands and instrumental bands.
Currently working as a Tutor and Guitarist for the Beautiful Noise School of Music.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I have had a previous CRB check which is still valid, however I do not currently hold the certificate validation. In the process of acquiring an updated replacement.

- Where and with whom did you train?

Trained in Scotland under tuition of Grade 1-3, Later attended university where I gained skills up to and including Grades 5-7.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

My name is Jamie and I am aiming to provide professional and fun tuition in the West Sussex area. Not just teaching you how to play but teaching musical understanding, stage craft exercises and the opportunity to work in a band environment.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I can teach Bass Guitar, Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Theory and Songwriting.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I graduated from the University of the Highlands and Islands with a music Higher National Diploma, equivalent to a English Btec graduation.

- How much do you charge?

For a limited time get 10% off all bookings, including extra discount on bulk bookings. Offer to end 01/11/12

£13 for a half hour lesson for Guitar or Bass
£22 for an Hour lesson on Guitar or Bass
Bulk bookings availible at discount.

£12 for half hour of Theory or Songwriting
£18 for an hour of Theory or Songwriting

- Where do you teach?

Currently based at Sound Central Studios, Bolney.

Able to tutor some aspects via Skype/web chat and through e-mail.

- When are you available?

I am always available, and this includes school holidays.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I am able to teach all ages anyone willing to learn and listen.

Levels are as follows:

Bass: Grade 5
Guitar: Grade 3
Theory: Grade 4

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

Although I cannot provide the examinations I can prepare students to sit Bass, Guitar and Theory exams up to the levels I have stated.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I can use Skype or e-mail messaging to provide either tutoring or worksheets as necessary and if required. However, I prefer face to face tuition.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

I'm aiming to give you a fun experience and the opportunity to take part in showcases to show off what you're learning and create/join bands and gain all kinds of great musical experience!
