About Adlan Shafi

I am a psychology degree student from Taylor's University. I have been tutoring informally since in secondary school, conducting classes as well as personal sessions. Currently, I'm tutoring (English and Malay) part-time in a centre and online. I'm an aspired-to-be polyglot, having a lot of experience in various languages. I believe I can explain a language better due to that. My other specialty is mathematics. I've taken part in various competitions including National Math Olympiad and came out in the top 15 rank. I think my best skill is to notice my students' needs. My students often tell me that I somehow know what they do not really understand about which most of the time, they themselves are not aware of.

My students are mainly teenagers and adults. I give English and Malay lessons to those who intend on taking them as a second language. I can even guide those taking English examinations up to level C1. I can teach (Additional) Mathematics up to college level. My lesson structure depends on the goals of my students. I will take their current level into consideration. My techniques centers around understanding instead of pure memorization which I believe is important to reinforce memory. As a tutor, not only do I teach but I also ensure my students' motivation and most importantly enjoy learning.
