About Elvira

I have more than 25 years of experience as Spanish teacher at university level. I taught thousand of students in the classroom at all levels, from beginning to advance and graduate level. I developed courses Online, directed curriculum sections, published textbooks for teaching and writing Spanish. I have supervised and trained instructors and teaching assistants. I created courses on Latin American literature and culture and developed programs to teach Spanish throughout the curriculum (discussion sections in Spanish for core courses in social sciences).

I have more that 20 years of experience as Spanish professor at College and university level.
I designed online courses teaching Spanish through media using subjects of news. Students learn the language by reading and writing essays about the content of the news. I use written stories, videos and podcasts, so students develop listening, reading, writing and oral abilities in the language.
My teaching philosophy is to enhance language learning through practical experience and to develop critical thinking. Students learn vocabulary, grammar, reading and writing skills. I interact directly one to one to improve each ability.
