About the lesson

I specialise in teaching upper Key Stage 2 pupils. As an ex-Deputy Head of an independent primary school, I have many years' experience providing exam preparation at 11+ for entry to independent and grammar schools in North London. I cover all aspects from VR & NVR, Arithmetic and English to interview technique.

I am also trained in the Callan Technique of direct instruction to adult learners of English.

About Priya

I have been preparing students for the 11 Plus exams since 2009. As a full-time class teacher, I have taught many children, most of whom have been accepted to the first or second schools of their choice.

My methodology is clear: I value old-fashioned direct teaching techniques. I focus on mental arithmetic and an understanding of grammar as the foundations on which a solid primary education is built. I do not provide 'cramming' for entrance exams. I expect to establish a long-term relationship with my students from the age of 7 so that I may imbue in them a love of learning across the curriculum, with regular homework to ensure consistent progress. Academic success is a journey and I want to be an expert guide for your child.
