About Nicoletta

I am a qualified French and Spanish teacher, former Head of Spanish and founder of LinguaLab.

I have always loved languages, but more than that, I love helping students realise they are capable of so much more than they think. After studying French and Spanish at the University of Nottingham, I went on to teach in both state and independent boarding schools in the UK, working with students from KS3 through to A level.

Over nearly a decade in the classroom, I saw the difference that the right teaching can make. Some students needed confidence. Some needed structure. Some needed to be pushed further. Some just needed someone to explain things in a way that finally made sense.

That is why I started LinguaLab.

I wanted to create small group tuition that feels supportive, focused and genuinely useful. Not just extra worksheets. Not just generic revision advice. Not just memorising model answers. LinguaLab is for students who need expert teaching, clear guidance, regular accountability and a learning environment where they feel encouraged to take part.

My teaching is built around three key pillars:

Students are pushed to aim higher, but always with clear guidance and feedback.

• Clear scaffolding to ensure success:
Complex grammar, speaking, writing and exam skills are broken down into manageable steps.

• Energetic, engaging and enjoyable lessons:
Lessons are carefully planned with variety, pace and active learning, helping students stay motivated while acquiring the language properly.

I bring a lot of energy to my lessons, but I am also very structured. I want students to enjoy learning, but I also want them to make real progress. Every LinguaLab student has access to a digital exercise book and an online learning platform with extra resources, so learning is organised and does not stop when the live lesson ends.

What makes my approach different is the balance. Students are challenged, but not overwhelmed. Supported, but not spoon-fed. Encouraged, but still held to high standards.

About the lesson

LinguaLab lessons are structured, energetic and carefully planned. Every session is designed to help students build confidence, improve accuracy and make visible progress.

Lessons take place online via Microsoft Teams. Each student has access to their own digital exercise book, where lesson notes, resources, tasks, homework and written feedback are kept in one organised place. Students also have access to an online learning platform with extra resources to support their progress between lessons.

In lessons, students can expect:

• Clear explanations and structured practice
• Speaking, grammar, translation and writing tasks
• Exam board-specific preparation
• Active participation rather than passive worksheet completion
• Regular retrieval practice to help language stick
• Weekly homework and written feedback
• Access to extra resources outside the lesson
• A supportive small group environment
• High expectations with clear guidance

My lessons are not about rushing through content or memorising model answers without understanding them. I want students to learn how the language works, think more independently and communicate with more confidence.

Groups are capped at 8 students. This keeps lessons small enough for individual attention and personalised feedback, while still allowing students to benefit from the energy, interaction and encouragement of learning with others.

Every session is purposeful, varied and matched to the needs of the group. Students are expected to take part, practise and improve, but always in a supportive environment where they feel guided and encouraged.
