About Rebekah

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have been teaching professionally for over 5 years. I worked for the Salford Music Service for 2.5 years in which I taught violin and piano and conducted a string ensemble. I am now currently teaching at 'The Music Place' in Altrincham and I also teach privately in Manchester.

I have worked with a diverse range of students, of all different ages and standards. Through my experiences as a teacher I have acquired an extremely good insight into what is required in developing and nurturing a student's natural ability. I have prepared a number of students for their ABRSM grades (violin and piano) with a high merit/distinction success rate.

Hi! I'm a graduate from the Royal Northern College of Music, a passionate musician and a dedicated teacher.

My aim is to nurture every student's playing by encouraging a creative practice which is stimulating and rewarding for students of all ages.

Violin *beginner to grade 8 and above

BMus (Hons) Degree from the Royal Northern College of Music

Since graduating from the RNCM, I have performed as a soloist with several amateur orchestras and sat as leader and principal second in a number of professional orchestras. I also have a real passion for contemporary music and improvisation and I perform regularly as a jazz violinist with a jazz string quartet and other bands.

I am currently recording two albums this year; one with the jazz ensemble The Forgotten Fairground Project and the other is an album that I have co -written and composed.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £27 per hour and £13.50 per half hour

Small travel charges may apply depending on distance.

- Where do you teach?

I mainly teach at my house in Withington. I can teach at your home if you wish, however, this is dependent on the distance and transport available.

I am a 5 minute walk from Wilsmlow road and 15 minutes from Rusholme, Didsbury and Chorlton.

- When are you available?

My schedule is pretty flexible and I am happy to work around you.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

Violin: Ages 4 and upwards- absolute beginners to advanced

Jazz Violin: Grade 6 and above

Theory and musicianship: Ages 10 and upwards

ABRSM Examinations

Via skype only on certain days of the week and the weekend. These can be arranged once we have met or spoken.
