About Ethan

Hi, I’m Ethan, a Secondary Geography teacher. I also hold a Master’s degree in Political Ecology from Lancaster University, widening my geographical knowledge and understanding.

I have experience teaching a wide range of KS3, GCSE and A Level Geography topics and enjoy helping students build confidence in both their subject knowledge and exam skills. I understand that Geography can sometimes feel content-heavy or difficult to apply in exam questions, so I aim to make lessons clear, engaging, and supportive.

I decided to go into teaching because I genuinely enjoy helping students grow in confidence and realise they are capable of more than they think. One of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing a student begin to understand something they previously found difficult and watching their confidence develop over time.

I’m particularly passionate about making Geography feel relevant and interesting by linking lessons to real-world issues, current events, and students’ own experiences. I believe learning works best when students feel comfortable, supported, and encouraged to ask questions without fear of getting things wrong.

Outside of teaching, I have a strong interest in environmental issues, global cultures, and the relationship between people and place — all of which help me bring enthusiasm and real-world examples into lessons.

About the lesson

I believe the best tutoring happens when students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence step by step. My lessons are designed to be supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style.

As a Geography teacher with classroom experience teaching KS3, GCSE and A Level students, I understand that every learner is different. Some students need help improving exam technique, others need support breaking down difficult concepts, and many simply need someone patient who can explain things clearly and build their confidence.

I aim to create lessons that feel calm, encouraging, and interactive rather than overly pressured. I use clear explanations, retrieval practice, model answers, and structured guidance to help students develop both their geographical knowledge and their independent thinking skills.

Whether a student is aiming to boost their grades, prepare for exams, catch up on missed content, or simply feel more confident in class, I adapt lessons to help them make steady and meaningful progress. My goal is not only to improve results, but to help students feel capable and successful in their learning.
