- What kind of experience do you have?

I have extensive experience as a tutor, teacher, and academic researcher.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

I do not currently have a DBS certificate because I have been involved in teaching those aged 16 and above.

- Where and with whom did you train?

My PhD was supervised by Professor Stan Smith, author of 'The Origins of Modernism: Eliot, Pound and Yeats' (1994) and 'The Cambridge Companion to W. H. Auden' (2005).

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

I am a member of a number of literary societies, as well as the British Association for Modernist Studies

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I have taught a number of students with a variety of backgrounds and with a diversity of needs. One student was in the first year of her degree course at the Open University, and was not getting the grades she desired. I was able to boost her confidence, and to guide her in the direction of understanding what her university teachers were looking for from her work. Gradually her marks improved and by the end of her first year she was achieving the sort of grades that she desired.

Hello, I am a tutor of English literature, with over twelve years experience of teaching at university level.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

English

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a PhD, and a M.A. in Literary Studies.

- How much do you charge?

I normally charge £15/hour for a normal lesson. I am perfectly willing to offer a reduced price for a consultation in order to establish the student's needs.

- Where do you teach?

I teach in Bedford. I would welcome students from Cambridge, Kettering, Leicester, London, Luton, Milton Keynes, Northampton, Oxford St. Neots and the surrounding area.

- When are you available?

I am flexible, and able to arrange times to suit requirements.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I normally teach those aged 16 and above. I teach 'A' Level and university level, including university entrance.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

Degree English; and 'A'-Level English.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

Online tutoring is conducted via Skype.

I am an understanding tutor who can help those who may feel they are struggling within the educational system. I feel I can make a difference, and help students reach their potential.
