About the lesson
I want to be accepting and supportive of Autistics to help them through the difficulties they face with understanding and DEEP empathy. I have lived it. We are all different but we have many things in common that help me relate to autistics in a major way. I REALLY want to help Autistics become the awesome people I know the majority of us are capable of being. I am an #actuallyautistic teacher with 30 years of experience in many subjects looking to help other Autistics through my deep understanding of the best ways to support them.
I am a member of the Aspect (Autism Australia) "Think Tank" hopefully making a difference from the Autistic point of view. In the last 2 years, I have been teaching in Autism-specific support classes in various schools as a casual teacher, which has been awesome! I am also on the NSW Department of Education Champions Of Inclusive Education Network who are a group of teachers dedicated to making sure that every child has access to fully inclusive education in NSW.

About Peter
An Autistic teacher who would like to make a difference in the lives of other Autistics. I am trained to teach Science( Environmental Science /Biology) and Geography. I also have taught Commerce, Business Studies, Maths, English, and Design &Technology. I have been teaching Autistic students in many schools for the last year and have absolutely loved it!
I have a BSc (Hons) in Ecology, Climatology, Biogeography, Zoogeography and Paleontology (UNSW), a Grad Dip in Education (UNE) and did 6 months of an M.Comm (UNSW) (discontinued without fail)
I have taught many Autistic students and would like to think I have been a major positive role model for them. In the last 2 years as a casual teacher, I have been teaching mostly Autistic specific classes which has been a fantastic experience. We "get" each other and I can focus on their strengths, which are quite often mine as well!
I would like to be a mentor, teacher, tutor or life coach for your children, I can do this from the Autistic perspective, allowing your children to develop in a way that means they remain who they are without being forced to behave in a way that is distressing to them. Many have very special abilities that can be focussed on.

Details
This is a business set up by me as a sole trader. I am a fully accredited teacher and my working with children, WWC1212125E, is valid until 2022.
I would prefer to help those who are "high functioning" (Aspergers, ASD level 1)) as I can relate to that better as that is what I am myself, but if you're OK with it, any others on the Spectrum would be great as well!
