I'm a logical thinker and the best way for me to teach is to clearly write out methods and go through plenty of practice questions with the student. As I have taken both the new style and old style GCSE exam (Edexcel) and the new Edexcel A level exam, I'm really familiar with the range of exam questions that can be asked and the best way to answer them for maximum marks. In my lessons, we will focus on areas of difficulty for the student, break down the concepts and do lots of practice until they are happy and confident.
I'm a university student at King's College London, studying biomedical science. I achieved an a* in the old maths gcse, a 9 in the new maths gcse and an A* at A level maths. I would like to tutor gcse or A level maths students. I have previously tutored kids in the lower school at my sixth form with their gcse maths and have plenty of experience with the syllabus. Many of the kids in the class that I helped said I gave them a different perspective to their main teacher which gave them a greater understanding of the work, particularly when they didn't quite get the way the teacher explained things. The class I helped with were a lower set so I really had to make sure I was clear with explanations and I could definitely help anybody that is struggling and needs that extra support for the exams.
