About Aaliyah

I’m someone who has navigated the ups and downs of education, particularly in politics, history and English. I know firsthand the struggles many students face. As a child, I found it challenging to discover effective study methods that suited me, but through perseverance, I developed a passion for learning that propelled me forward. My engagement with politics began at a young age; I joined the debating society at just 12 years old to refine my argumentation skills. I created and successfully worked on my own local and national political campaigns. My academic journey led me to complete my BA in Strategy, Intelligence and Security and I am happily working towards my Master’s degree. My ambition doesn’t stop there—I aspire to pursue a PhD focusing on international relations, particularly with China, Japan and South Korea, while maintaining a broad interest in global politics. I aim to share my love for learning with my students. Understanding that everyone has unique ways of expressing and absorbing information, I incorporate various teaching styles—Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, and Kinaesthetic—into my classes. I recognise the strengths that come from discussing and listening to the subject matter, and I tailor my approach based on what resonates most with my students. My desire to teach stems from the inspiration I received from my own teachers, who offered invaluable support and guidance. I started off as a quiet child, uncertain about my future, and have transformed into someone aspiring to become a research analyst. I want to provide the same encouragement and mentorship that helped me find my path, guiding students as they discover their own passion for a variety of subjects. Together, we can explore this fascinating field and unlock your potential!

About the lesson

As a tutor specialising in Politics and History, I’ve had the unique opportunity to blend my passion for learning with my dedication to helping others grow. My educational journey began with International Baccalaureate in Global Politics followed by a BA in Strategy, Intelligence, and Security. Currently, I’m pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations and East Asian Studies, where I’ve been fortunate enough to achieve distinctions in my grades. Starting from the ground up, I’ve experienced the highs and lows of academic life firsthand. I know what it’s like to face challenges, and I’m here to share the lessons I’ve learned along the way—the dos and don’ts that can make a real difference in your studies. My goal is to help you navigate the complexities of your Historical/ political studies and develop the skills you need to succeed. Every lesson I conduct is tailored to you. Whether you’re struggling with a specific topic or looking to deepen your understanding of a particular area, I’m here to guide you. While I have a structured approach to our sessions, I believe in the importance of adaptability. If there’s something specific you want to focus on, or if you prefer to learn at your own pace or have a specific way, I’m more than happy to steer our lessons in the direction that works best for you. I genuinely enjoy fostering a friendly and happy learning environment, where you feel comfortable asking questions and expressing your thoughts.
