About Jean Emmanuel
He is the author of seven (7) books: Homo Sensuel (Ruptures 2013),
Quartiers d'oublis (Ruptures 2014), Kalawòch (Ruptures 2015), La rue
Gabart est ta principale maladresse (Ruptures 2016), Trapèze (self-ed.
2018/Pro 2020), Depresyon (C3 Edition 2020) and Mirage (Editions
Gouttes-Lettres 2022).
During his career, he has collaborated with the daily newspapers Le
Nouvelliste, Haïti Liberté, Cultures Sud, Parole en Archipel, SiBelle Haiti...
In June 2013, he won the Jacques Roche Prize for Cultural Journalism,
then in 2018, the Prize of Excellence in French Literature, awarded by
the Group for Reflection and Action for a New Haiti (GRAHN). His
collection of poems "Trapèze" was a finalist in 2021 for the International
Francophone Prize of the Montreal Poetry Festival.
