What Is The Overall Examination Format Of The STPM Seni Visual Papers?

Kertas 1: 970/1 Seni Visual 1 (Apresiasi Seni Visual)
This paper consists of a written assessment on several structured and essay questions. Section A has 4 structured questions. (Compulsory). On the other hand, Section B has 4 essay questions and students have to answer 2 essay questions. Section C has 2 essay questions and students need to answer 1 essay question.
The duration of the whole paper is 2 hours.
Kertas 2: 970/2 Seni Visual 2 (Lukisan dalam Pengkaryaan dan Perekaan)
This paper requires students to produce an artwork based on two formats: Seting or Gubahan. The duration of this test is 3 hours.
Kertas 3: 970/3 Seni Visual 3 (Projek Kajian Seni Visual)
This is the only school-based assessment, unlike Paper 1 and Paper 2. Students will be asked to produce a project that could fall under the Pengkaryaan or Perekaan category. This assessment will be carried out throughout the third semester, where students will be assisted and graded by their subject teacher.
Kertas 4: 970/4 Seni Visual 4 (Teori Projek Kajian Seni Visual)
This is an assessment that will be sat by private candidates (as a replacement for Paper 3). Students will have to answer a series of essay questions. The duration of this paper is 3 hours.

- (a) Nasionalisme dapat diterapkan melalui bentuk imej yang mempunyai ciri-ciri cinta akan negara seperti pemandangan indah di Malaysia dan imej budaya di Malaysia seperti kraf traditional.
- (b) Teknologi boleh ditunjukkan dengan imej atau gambar yang berkaitan dengan aktiviti penghasilan manusia yang mempunyai kemahiran tertentu seperti teknologi digital serta imej bangunan modern.
- (c) Kepercayaan melibatkan sesuatu yang diyakini pada sesuatu kebenaran atau benda. Imej simbol dapat menimbulkan kesan kepercayaan dalam beragama contohnya masjid atau kuil.
Scoring points: Give a simple and direct definition of the term, and provide elaboration and examples in the context of Malaysian art (Remember to use the keywords: seperti and contohnya to state your next point).
Paper 1 [Section B dan C]
Question example: Arca di atas adalah arca dari Afrika. Berdasarkan rajah di atas, nyatakan pengolahan formalistik yang wujud. [15m]
Suggested answer example:
- Pengolahan formalistik yang wujud dalam arca tersebut ialah (Introduction):
- Media: karya menggunakan bahan tembikar berdasarkan warna natural tanah yang terdapat pada karya.
- Teknik: arca ini menggunakan teknik acuan berdasarkan bentuk kelihatan sempurna tanpa ada kesan ukiran.
- Mempunyai bentuk tiga dimensi. Ia dilihat daripada keseluruhan imej yang wujud secara reality dan bukan olahan catan atau cetakan.
- Penggunaan warna natural/warna asal. Warna asal dapat dikesan melalui penampilan warna asal,
iaitu tanah/warna natural. - Imej stalisasi/dipermudahkan berdasarkan olahan bentuk yang mempunyai bentuk seolah-olah paras rupa manusia.
- Mempunyai imbangan tidak simetri. Ia dilihat daripada keseluruhan bentuk arca yang tidak sama pada kedua belah bahagian.
- Mempunyai unsur jalinan. Unsur jalinan terdapat pada bahagian kepala yang berkemungkinan besar adalah representasi kepada rambut dan terdapat jalinan di leher yang berkemungkinan adalah olahan perhiasan/rantai.
Scoring points: Have an organised structure with an introduction (1 mark) and valid points (at least 7 facts plus elaboration) to score a full 15 marks. Observe the given images.
