Resource 1# Past Year Papers And Sample Questions

Are you even preparing for an important examination without this resource?

Past-year papers, and trial papers from other states are like practice staples before the actual examination.

Not only do they expose you to the latest examination format of the subject, but they also equip you to anticipate what kind of questioning pattern that will be asked during your final exam.

The more you practice, the better momentum you get to build in the long run. It helps you develop a consistent flow when answering all the questions section by section.

You can purchase compilations of past year papers on STPM Economics at local bookstores (MPH, Popular) or e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Carousell (if you are okay with secondhand collections).

If you prefer to access digital files, you can either browse through educational blogs like Bumi Gemilang, Mr Saimun and STPMpaper.me or ask around fellow educators or Form six students on social media.

You'll be surprised that there are many people who are willing to consistently upload and share these resources for free online.

Read more about the latest examination format of STPM Economics here.

Resource 2# Official STPM Subject Reports

As a former Form Six student several years back, I regretted not utilizing this learning resource.

The STPM subject report is released annually for all STPM subjects by the Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM). In this comprehensive report, you get to read the final answers for each section and review the actual examiners' comments on the candidates' answers for that particular year.

For example, you will get to compare the answers of a candidate who scored full marks for a specific question and the answers of a candidate who lost some marks in between for your STPM Economics papers.

In one way or another, you get to master the marking scheme of this subject by identifying what the examiners are looking for and discovering what are the most common mistakes that occur during the actual paper.

Here's a snippet of the remarks of the examiners on the STPM Economics 2021 paper for a particular question.

Soalan (a) menghendaki calon menakrifkan kos tetap dan kos berubah.

[Correct and complete answer]

Sebahagian kecil calon sahaja yang dapat menakrifkan kos tetap dan kos berubah dengan tepat. Ramai calon yang mengaitkan kos tetap dan kos berubah dengan pengeluaran jangka pendek dan jangka panjang. [General comments]

That way, you'll be a step ahead when you're scanning through your actual examination. In terms of drafting and presenting your final answers, you're in good hands.

You can access the STPM annual reports from 2012 to 2021 via the MPM's official website here.

Resource 4# Online Tutorials/Courses From Youtube

Apart from physical learning resources, you can also look up several online resources to enrich your overall STPM Economics revision experience.

Some of us learn best through visuals, graphics and motion instead of reading paragraph after paragraph. That's totally fine.  Studies have revealed that Youtube is one of the most used online learning and teaching tool among educators as well as students.

In the context of STPM Economics, you can search for specialised answering techniques by former students and teachers to have an overview of how to master the core concepts and revise in the most time-effective manner.

Some Youtube channels that you can subscribe to include Didik TV KPM, Lee Quit Huei and Cikgu Jonias Tutorial.
