Why Should You Hire a Tutor?

One of the best things you can do for yourself if you are sitting for the STPM information and communications technology paper is to hire a tutor. You might be surprised to know that there are tutors who specifically teach, guide, and help students with this subject.

While many resources online can help you with STPM ICT, hiring a tutor is highly beneficial. People tend to think that hiring a tutor is an expensive affair, and they can just opt to study themselves. We agree that hiring a tutor can be expensive, but believe it or not, it is not always costly. There are many ways to get a tutor for this subject at an affordable fee. One of them is to opt for an online lesson. Online lessons are cheaper because they do not require you or your tutor to travel. You will be surprised by how online tutoring technology has grown since Covid-19.

Another option for a more affordable tutoring session is to hire students to help you. Students who have studied and aced the STPM ICT subject are good options for those who are looking for someone to help them in their journey. Student tutors tend to be more emphatic and understanding than teachers.

Another thing to remember is that just because a lesson is cheap doesn’t mean that the tutor is not good. Always try out the tutor and attend at least one class before deciding. Our platform, Superprof, provides this option so you can be sure you are getting the best.

Tutors are also important because they give you the attention and help you might be missing from school. As you know, there are many students in a classroom, and teachers teach not only multiple classes but also subjects. Therefore, it is understandable why they do not have the time to devote attention to each of their students. Here is where a tutor comes in. They help reinforce what is taught in school and help you identify and improve on your weaknesses.

Where Can You Look for Tutors?

Before you start searching for a tutor, it’s important to know which one will suit you best. There are many different types of tutoring options you can choose from. It all depends on your preference. Do you prefer to learn in a group, or are you more comfortable with private lessons? Are you looking to learn online or prefer physical classes? These are some points you need to consider before looking for an STPM ICT tutor.

So now that you have a brief idea of what you need and want when it comes to hiring a tutor for your information and communications technology subject, comes the next question: how do you get a tutor? Below, we have listed some of the best ways to get a tutor for your subject.

Friends and Family

One good way to find a tutor for your ICT subject is to ask around your friends and family. With students in your class taking the same subjects as you, you can easily ask them where and whom they hire to help them with this subject. You can also ask around your family members. One thing that is good with this method is that you have people who are directly attending classes with the tutors, so you have a first-hand account of what the lessons are like and the process of teaching used. One great way about this is you get the unique insight that is usually unavailable to you.

Google Search

Google search is a great tool to help you search for a good tutor. One function that you must use, which will greatly benefit you, is the available review option. Based on these two, you should be able to narrow down one or two places where you can visit to set up a meeting. Keep in mind that when you visit these places, be sure to ask as many questions as you need, such as about teaching methodology, price, and location. These will further clarify whether they are the best option for you. Once you have done these, you can move on to the third point below.

Visit Tuition Centres Around You

Before you commit to lessons, whether in a centre or at your tutor’s home, always make sure to visit the location. This helps especially in city centres where traffic and parking might be an issue. By physically visiting the place, you will be able to check and see if it is legitimate, safe, and the best option for you.

One of the best options for finding a tutor is to visit Superprof. We are an online platform that connects tutors and students. Our platform is very easy to use and navigate.
