What Are The Learning Objectives Of The STPM Seni Visual?

The latest Form 6 STPM Pendidikan Seni Visual curriculum is designed for students to achieve these 3 learning goals.

1. To grow in theoretical knowledge [Pengetahuan]

Firstly, this subject aims to promote the ability to state and elaborate on the roles of visual arts in the creative, cultural, social and economic arena and express it as an effective communication tool.

Secondly, students are expected to describe, analyse, interpret and decide what encompasses aesthetic values, meaning and function of various artwork.

Thirdly, students will be taught to apply art appreciation (kefahaman apresiasi), historical approach
(pendekatan sejarah) and art criticism (kritikan seni)  throughout their studies.

2. To gain practical drawing and artistic skills [Kemahiran]

The STPM Seni Visual syllabus is structured to help students to master the following skills. First and foremost, students can express their ideas creatively and innovatively. Second, students must be able to adopt research and problem-solving approaches during the process of creating their artwork.

Thirdly, they should demonstrate new ideas during the designing and drawing process. Next, they know the solutions to solve the matters that potentially arise through their comprehension of visual art theories taught during the semesters. They are also expected to document their whole artwork creation process in both written and visual form.

Last but not the least, they have to present their final visual artwork with the appropriate concepts and contexts.

3. To develop soft skills [Kualiti Personal]
