Doing the IGCSE is the best setting if you plan for local private or overseas universities. You can opt for local public universities after IGCSE but the application procedure is quite difficult.

In order to go into a public university using IGCSE, you have to apply directly to the preferred local universities. The approach might be a hassle and there is so much paperwork that needs to be done.

Therefore, if you plan to further your studies in local public universities, you might want to consider taking SPM instead of IGCSE. The pathway for local public universities is much easier with SPM compared to IGCSE.
