"He who hasn't seen Seville has never seen true wonder." - Spanish proverb
Seville, or Sevilla in Spanish, is the fourth-largest city on the Iberian peninsula. It’s in the south of Spain and the capital of Andalusia. The locals are very proud of their city, its culture, and its heritage and by the end of this article, you'll understand why. It has a special place in the hearts of everyone who lives there. With great food, weather, culture, and history, the Andalusian capital has it all. It’s also an excellent representative for Spain. According to the World Tourism Organisation, Spain was the second-most popular tourist destination after France and ahead of the United States. With Barcelona, Madrid, and Granada, you might be wondering why Seville is worth your time and money. There’s something special about this city. Welcome to Seville!
The Weather

The Lifestyle
Like cities across the world, Seville has a particular lifestyle. Locals love spending a lot of time out and about. Day or night, you can find locals enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
Getting Away
Seville is a great city to get away from it all, which is why it’s so popular with tourists. While the historic city centre is an attraction in its own right, it's not the only one. You can also head out of the city to see the best Andalusia and Seville have to offer. Seville is regularly used in film and TV and you can see why. It’s appeared in both Star Wars and Game of Thrones. The Alcazar was the location used for Dorne in GoT. There’s also the aroma of oranges and jasmine in the air alongside the beautiful colours of the city. The city also inspired Beaumarchais enough to create the Barber of Seville. Even if you don’t want to visit anywhere in Seville, it’s just a nice city to get lost in. You can’t talk about Seville without mentioning flamenco, though. The city is so special that you’ll forget all your worries.
The Cuisine
The cuisine is an important part of life all over Spain. In Seville, you can enjoy tapas, which is more than just food; it’s a way of life. There are tonnes of tapas bars across the city and after you’ve had one, it’s difficult not to want more. In addition to the tapas, there are also local dishes like cocido andaluz, snails, montadito de pringá, and huevos a la flamenca. ¡Olé! Seville is also a great base and, as we mentioned, you can easily travel to Andalusian cities such as Granada, Cordoba, as well as the Sierra Nevada or make Seville just one destination on a tour of Andalusia. So what are you waiting for? Andalusia is already waiting for you. If you'd like to learn more about the Spanish language or Spanish history and culture, consider getting help from one of the many experienced and talented tutors available on Superprof. When it comes to learning languages, everyone's different and there are different types of private tutorials for every type of learner, budget, and level. Face-to-face tutorials are an excellent way to learn a foreign language as you're the only student in the class and will get plenty of opportunities to practise, ask questions, and converse with your private tutor. Similarly, the tutor will tailor the sessions to you, what you want to learn, and how you like to learn. Generally, these types of tutorials are the most costly, but they're also the most cost-effective since every minute of the lesson is spent helping you to get better at your new language. If you can't find any local private tutors, you can always look for online tutoring. With an online tutor, you can be taught by people all over the world, including those from Spanish-speaking countries. Much like with face-to-face tutorials, you can get one-on-one online tutorials and spend a lot of time practising your language skills with your private tutor. However, since the tutor doesn't need to travel to their students, they can charge less than their face-to-face counterparts. Group tutorials are an excellent option for those on a tight budget as you can share the cost of the tutor's time with the other students in the lesson. While you won't get as much time to practise your Spanish with the tutor, you will have other students to practise with and this can be better for students who'd be nervous practising their Spanish with somebody who's already mastered the language. If you're not sure which type of tutoring is right for you, don't forget that many of the tutors on the Superprof website offer the first session for free. You can use these free sessions to try out several different private tutors before deciding on which one is right for you and your budget. Before you start getting in touch with tutors, we recommend making a list of requirements. From there, you can find the tutors that might be what you're looking for and then start contacting them.
