Right after completing your SPM, you can now enter into Form 6 studies and sit for the Malaysian Higher School Certificate or Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) where you will continue studying for 18 months in school before proceeding to your undergraduate studies in public, local private universities and even overseas.
What's new about STPM Malaysia?
Starting from 2012, STPM has been revamped into the modular system. This means that both the STPM syllabus and grading system have been changed. Previously, it was a 100% examination-based evaluation at the end of your studies.
Students who sit for this examination will now be graded throughout 3 semesters and the final grade of every subject will be the cumulative grade for each semester.
Before registering and selecting the subjects for STPM, you can also learn more about the timeline of the examination as well as the various subject selection for different streams of study.

If you have decided to sit for STPM and you love language, you might want to consider taking Malay as it is a beautiful language with rich culture. Another plus point? It is also Malaysia's national language!
