As an actor, I am currently filming the tv series TALAMASCA (a spin off of the Interview with the Vampire series) with BBC/ABC, due to air worldwide in 2026.

I play Jo Gibson in new series THE STOLEN GIRL alongside Denise Gough, currently airing worldwide on Disney+.

As a writer/director, my debut short film A FRIEND OF DOROTHY, with Miriam Margolyes in the lead role alongside Sir Stephen Fry, world premiere's at RAINDANCE this month (June 2025) and has been nominated for BEST UK SHORT FILM. The film has been supported by Sir Ian Mckellen and Jim Broadbent. The film has recently been announced in the media (see article below). I just won Directorial Debut Award at the Heartland OSCAR Qualifying Festival in the US and it also won the Overall Audience Award. It has also been selected to screen at LA's presitigious Hollyshorts Festival which was announced in Variety magazine. (See link below).

I play Rosencrantz alongside Sir Ian McKellen in Hamlet the movie which was released in cinemas worldwide in June 2024 and is now on Amazon Prime.

I also played Rosencrantz alongside Ian McKellen in Hamlet on stage in a nine-month-long season. At the time, we were the only Rep Company in the UK performing Hamlet in rep with The Cherry Orchard.

I have recently completed filming on the drama series Vigil for the BBC.

I am in the process of writing my first play and also will soon be launching my own Podcast where I will be chatting with other actors to get a deeper understanding of an artist's life. I am also a regular guest on BBC Radio's The Jo Good Show.

Since graduating from the Drama Centre, I have worked extensively in Theatre and Screen. My debut role was in Much Ado About Nothing, Wyndhams Theatre alongside Catherine Tate & David Tennant. In 2020 I transferred to the West End in the lead role of Kevin Elyot’s play Coming Clean at the Trafalgar Studios to huge acclaim. This was the third sell-out run.

Other credits include Martin Macdonagh's A Very Very Very Dark Matter alongside Jim Broadbent at the Bridge Theatre, Coming Clean, Trafalgar Studios, and Savage at the Arts Theatre where I was nominated Best Actor at the Offie Awards. I have also performed at many other venues such as the Park Theatre, Finborough Theatre, King's Head Theatre, The Hope Theatre, Windsor Theatre Royal, and Theatre Delicatessen.

Other TV & Film credits include The Last Letter From Your Lover on Netflix alongside Joe Alwyn and BBC drama The North Water alongside Colin Farrell and Jack O'Connell, which aired worldwide in 2023.. Other credits include Sherlock, Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire and The Trial of Christine Keeler.

I recently shot and produced a series of comedy sketches. My short play No More Doughnuts was selected as part of the Make it Beautiful Festival and was performed in London in September 2021, which I directed. A Comedy Pilot I wrote reached thesemi-finalss (top 1%) for BBC Comedy Writer's Room in 2019 and my piece the Art of Suffering was produced for the Lost Souls Podcast.

As well as teaching at LAMDA, Arts Ed & Identity drama schools, I have sat on various drama school audition panels for over six years on the BA Acting, MA Acting and Foundation courses. I have taught professional preparation to third-year BA Students helping them prepare for life outside of drama school as an Actor. I also designed and taught the Drama Centre London Summer Course on audition preparation for drama schools in 2019. I have provided various motivational talks and sat on panels with the Raindance Film Festival, The Actor's Centre, The King's Head Theatre, and Industry Minds and was the Audition Technique Tutor at a leading drama school.

I also work alongside West-End producers ATG (Ambassador Theatre Group) and run various professional workshops with them.

I am extremely passionate about championing actors from all backgrounds and helping them find their unique voices. I feel strongly about actors being taught by teachers who are working and amid their careers - this way we can bring to students a very current experience in a constantly changing industry and also a passion that is very alive!

Because of this, I started coaching students privately five years ago and when the pandemic hit I designed a website ((concealed information) and started taking everything online. If you are auditioning for drama school check it out as I have a Blog there which you should find very useful.

I have focused much of my attention on helping auditionees transition to self-taped online auditions rather than in the room, which most schools are adopting.

I have written articles that have been published in The Stage on various subjects including Auditioning via Self-tape, and revisiting a West End role as an Actor and I also run a Blog through the Audition Room website.

Who are my students?

My students range from young Actors Auditioning for drama school, those who have never acted and want to start from the very beginning to professional Actors looking to improve their skills on their screen, text or improve their self-tape skills.

I also give practical career guidance and mentorship on anything from Finding agents to advancing their career tractors looking for their next steps. I have been through it all myself for twenty years (and still going through it daily!) I can offer very relevant advice on what an actor can do to create career movement and come up with a plan of action in a very competitive sometimes overwhelming industry. This industry can be very tough and sometimes people need to re-find their path and re-ignite their passion.

In teaching acting - I help YOU find your connection to a character and to text rather than merely my perception. I will help ignite your imagination, giving you simple tools to find true depth in whatever material you are working on. Also- Improving an Actor’s confidence in a SAFE space which I call an actor’s playground - is one of the best ways to be free to create! This is my goal. ‘Leaving yourself alone’ Is the key to freedom.

Also, due to my extensive experience on the audition panels, those auditioning for drama are a large part of my teaching.

This year my students got offered places at various schools including LAMDA, Drama Studio, Oxford, East 15 and Bristol, RADA, Guildhall, Arts Ed, Central, and Identity.

I privately coach and mentor actors from all over the world at all points in their careers. Whether a professional actor working in the industry or a complete beginner.

I have sat on the audition panels for some of the leading UK drama schools and have designed auditioning for drama school courses for various drama institutions. I also run various masterclasses at schools such as LAMDA on Shakespeare, acting on camera and professional preparation - helping guide the third-year actors on life outside of drama school. Because of my extensive experience here, much of my work is coaching those auditioning for drama school and I am over the moon to say that this year my clients gained places for 2024 entry at RADA, Guildhall, LAMDA, Central, East15, Fourth Monkey, Bristol, ArtsEd, Oxford, and Birmingham amongst others and because of Zoom, they are from all over the world.

I have written articles for the Stage Newspaper on auditioning and self-taping and am interviewed in RADA's (head of acting) Annie Tyson's new book entitled 'Successful Auditions'. I have helped design and curate The Actor's Centre's 'Audition Week' in 2022 and various acting courses for The Nursery Theatre and the Ambassador Theatre Group, where I work as a West End Workshop leader.

I am also a recommended coach for an industry-leading actor's agency that sends me their actors to help improve their audition skills when needed.

I work with actors on self-tape and in-person auditions, career mentorship, agent applications and career progression, and helping to improve skills for both the stage and the screen. I work with actors on their career trajectory helping them to navigate a constantly evolving industry. As a working actor myself very much in the midst of my own career, I bring that on-the-ground experience to my clients.

What I have learnt through my career as an Actor and from the many years working on the Audition Panels for drama schools and teaching/directing at drama schools is that you need to show people who you are - through your work - through the words, not somebody you think they want to see. My main goal and ethos is to help you find your unique voice as an Actor. You are a vessel for these characters and stories and how you personally connect is what makes your artistic voice unique. Why speak the words if they don't vibrate within you? In anything we do together, I won't simply direct you and tell you how I think your piece should be done. My role is to create a safe, inspiring space where you feel at your most free & confident, then fuel your imagination introducing you to techniques that will help you navigate your way through the speech organically whilst spotting any hurdles that I can help you overcome. So it feels like yours and no one else's. After all, casting directors or drama schools or whoever you are auditioning for - want to see you! They want your interpretation and connection to a piece - YOUR portrayal of these characters. This means when it comes to being redirected in any situation, if you get a recall audition in any form, you will be able to manoeuvre, change and allow other ideas to flow through you. I want you to trust your instincts. Freedom to explore is crucial and remember - you are enough.

I approach every Acting student's session entirely individually for your needs. That's my job. Helping you find where your unique voice lies. I don't want you to dip your toes in - neither does the industry. I want you to dive in. Being brave is going to move you forward - and I want to help you find that by creating a safe, empowering place for you to discover.

My work includes the following:

*Acting classes at all levels
*Script analysis: modern & classical
*Performing Shakespeare: Understanding verse & prose in-depth and helping you take ownership of the language.
*General audition technique
*Self Tape preparation/screen audition preparation
*Preparing for drama schools and other acting courses
*LAMDA Exams.
*Mentoring professional actors: Career progression/approaching agents/getting work/headshots/casting directors/Spotlight layout/Showreel guidance and clarification.
*Public speaking, communication & confidence coaching in all areas.

I work either online via Zoom or from Marylebone in London. Due to my schedule, I have much more availability via Zoom but let me know which you prefer.

  • When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I always knew I wanted to be an actor from a very young age but I went to a very strict academic school which didn't have any drama classes. So I had to find my own path once I left, with no experience in acting and very little confidence. This was a key learning point for me as I realised we are all on our own journey and it doesn't matter how or when you get there, as long as you get there. I eventually put myself into a weekend drama club and it grew from there. I always knew I wanted to tell stories and use this to connect to others. I always empathised with other people and their lives and had a deep curiosity about it and I think this is the key to being an actor. If it is your calling and your life's purpose, it will keep forcing you to explore it. You can't hide from it.
  • Which artists or works affect you the most?

At the moment, any pieces of writing shedding light on otherwise little known stories and marginalised groups, I have all the time for. As an Actor, I want to make work that matters and I teach all my students to try and get an understanding or what work vibrates within you - what matters to you. Because our work as actors is deeper than people think. It is about connecting. I would say Michaela Cole's 'I May Destroy You' is a rare, groundbreaking piece of TV. Also, I'm a big fan of the late Kevin Elyot and Mathew Lopez's 'The Inheritance' is one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever seen and possibly will ever see. Festen by David Eldridge is an incredible play and anything by Philip Ridley. Lucy Prebbles is my current favourite screenwriter.
  • What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

I always say having a natural sensitivity and curiosity of the world around you is a fundamental skill any actor must have. Our job is to take an idea and run wild with it so our imagination is our greatest tool. Our most important quality is empathy. We can't judge characters, we have to try and understand them.
  • What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Take breaks. Get out in nature. Don't hibernate too much. As creatives it can be lonely when we are learning lines or working on an audition script. Allow yourself to breathe and, if you don't feel like working, go and get a coffee and listen to some nice music. Be good to yourself. Don't force creativity to flow, let it come to you. It feels better that way.
  • How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

It is all consuming, constantly evolving, exhilarating and sometimes infuriating. Acting and writing and teaching is my soul's food and It is the most fulfilling thing when you do what you love. But it has it's challenges, like every industry does. Acting comes with a lot of rejection and part of the job is to embrace rejection and move past it and understand something bigger is coming. Keeping positive and learning how to withstand any career pressures is key and that comes with experience. It builds and you get better and better at it.
  • What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I played the lead role in a play called Coming Clean by Kevin Elyot's which had won a prestigious award in 1982. We revived it after thirty five years. It was such a success we transferred to the West End, twice. It sold out and due to demand it came back the following year. It was an extremely challenging, emotional role that is very close to my heart. Writing like that doesn't come round very often. It was a gift for an actor to play. I was reviewed in the press in a really wonderful way and it was a very fulfilling time. I will always love that piece. Also, being in a Harry Potter film was an exciting time and having a wand with my name on at the Harry Potter Tour is pretty cool.
  • Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

Always. One thing that excites me most about my job as a teacher is that students always surprise me. I create the space and teach in my way with the sole aim that a student will surprise me and as a result, quite often, they surprise themselves. That is the greatest thing to witness. My job is to bring out something in my students that they feel is deep within them but have never felt encouraged or empowered enough to bring to the surface. It is all about them feeling safe to be brave. Once they do, magic happens.
  • Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

My secret (which isn't such a secret) is loving what I do as an actor and getting to pass on all the knowledge, experience and passion to my students. Empowering them and helping them find their true artistic voice in order to move forward is everything to me.
