  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

    I developed an interest in fitness and personal training through my own journey. I struggled with weight issues, PCOD, and other health issues during my college days. However, through changes in my eating habits, regular exercise, and a focus on overall wellness, I was able to overcome these challenges and transform my life. This personal experience ignited a passion in me to help others achieve their fitness goals and lead healthier lives.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

    The motivation behind my choice to teach is the desire to share my knowledge and experience with others. I believe that everyone deserves to live a healthy and fulfilling life, and I want to empower my clients to achieve their fitness goals and improve their overall well-being. Seeing my clients progress, become more confident, and achieve things they never thought possible is incredibly rewarding and drives me to continue teaching and helping others.
  • How does your work help society?

    My work as a personal trainer helps society by promoting health and wellness. By helping individuals improve their fitness levels, I contribute to reducing the burden of lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. I also help people build confidence, improve mental health, and enhance their overall quality of life. Additionally, by educating my clients about proper nutrition and exercise, I empower them to make healthier choices, which can have a positive ripple effect on their families and communities. Overall, my work contributes to creating a healthier and happier society.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

    If I had to think of a role model for my work, I would think of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He not only achieved great success in bodybuilding and fitness but also used his platform to inspire others to pursue their fitness goals and live healthy lifestyles. He demonstrated the importance of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in achieving success in the fitness industry. Additionally, he has used his influence to advocate for health and fitness initiatives, furthering the positive impact of his work on society.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

    Outside of teaching, I enjoy staying active and participating in various sports and physical activities. I also like to spend time outdoors, hiking, and exploring nature. Additionally, I have a passion for cooking and experimenting with new recipes, especially those that are healthy and nutritious. Reading is another hobby of mine, and I particularly enjoy books on fitness, nutrition, and personal development. Overall, I strive to maintain a well-rounded lifestyle that aligns with my values and promotes my own health and well-being.
  • Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

    One anecdote that comes to mind is about a client who initially lacked confidence in their ability to make significant changes to their health and fitness. Sakeena had struggled with weight issues for years and had tried various diets and exercise routines without much success.

    Through our training sessions, I focused on building her confidence and helping her set realistic, achievable goals. We started with small changes to their diet and exercise routine, gradually increasing intensity and complexity as she became more comfortable.

    Over time, I watched as she transformed both physically and mentally. Sakeena lost weight, gained muscle, and most importantly, gained confidence in themselves and their abilities. Seeing her progress and the positive impact it had on their life was incredibly rewarding and reminded me of the importance of patience, perseverance, and belief in oneself.
