  • 1. When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My love for biology sparked early way back in 7th grade. I still remember the day our teacher introduced us to the "cell" and explained how this tiny unit carries out all life functions. I was fascinated by the idea that even a microscopic organism like bacteria could survive, adapt, and thrive. That one class was enough to ignite a lifelong curiosity about the biological world.

My journey into tutoring, however, started quite naturally. In school and later during my medical studies, I found myself helping classmates and juniors who struggled to understand concepts. I enjoyed simplifying complex topics for them, and I realized how fulfilling it was to see someone have that 'aha' moment. That's when I knew teaching wasn't just a side interest, it was something I truly wanted to pursue.
  • 2. Tell us more about the subjects you teach, the topics you enjoy most (and those you enjoy a little less).

I teach a broad spectrum of subjects in biology and medical science from botany, zoology, and microbiology for school and undergraduate students, to anatomy, physiology, general medicine, and Ayurvedic medicine for more advanced learners. I also conduct sessions on specialized areas like yoga, naturopathy, and panchakarma, making my classes holistic in approach.

If I had to point out one topic I find slightly less engaging, it would probably be taxonomy. While it's undoubtedly important, it leans heavily on memorization over conceptual understanding which isn't always as stimulating as the rest of biology's dynamic, interconnected systems.
  • 3. Did you have a role model or teacher who inspired you?

Absolutely! I had a biology teacher in secondary school who made every class feel like an adventure. She had a remarkable gift turning even the driest topics into something exciting and memorable. Her ability to break down difficult content into simple, digestible pieces left a lasting impression on me.

Beyond her, I owe a lot to the many teachers I encountered during my academic journey. Each of them, in their own way, shaped my mindset and taught me the value of patience, persistence, and passion in both learning and teaching.
  • 4. What do you think are the key qualities of a good tutor?

A good tutor is much more than someone who knows the subject. Yes, deep knowledge is essential but so are empathy, communication, and adaptability. You need to be able to connect with your students, understand where they're struggling, and tailor your methods accordingly.

I believe a great tutor is someone who inspires confidence, fosters curiosity, and supports their students beyond just the curriculum. They're a mentor, a motivator, and sometimes even a cheerleader helping learners discover their potential and believe in themselves.
  • 5. Share a valuable anecdote related to your subject or school days.

One moment that stands out vividly in my memory is when I was studying for my degree and my younger brother, who was in 9th grade at the time, constantly came to me with questions about biology. He had a genuine curiosity but found the subject confusing especially topics like the human body or plant and animal cells.

We would sit for hours discussing these concepts, and I'd break them down into simple analogies. Over time, I realized how natural it felt for me to teach and how much joy I found in helping him grasp what once confused him. Years later, I still use some of those analogies in my professional classes. It was my first true experience of teaching, and it helped shape the educator I am today.
  • 6. What challenges have you faced (or still face) in your subject?

Biology is beautifully vast but that can also be a challenge. The sheer amount of content can overwhelm students, and staying updated with the latest research and advancements requires continuous learning on my part.

Another challenge is the misconception that biology is all about rote memorization. I work hard to shift that perspective by showing students how biology is deeply logical and inherently connected to everyday life. It's not about cramming it's about understanding systems, processes, and relationships. Helping students reframe their mindset is a challenge, yes, but it's incredibly fulfilling when they begin to see the subject through a new lens.
  • 7. Do you have a particular passion within teaching or beyond?

At the heart of everything, my greatest passion is teaching. I pursued medicine because I love the subject, but teaching brings that subject alive in an entirely different way. It's not just about delivering lectures it's about nurturing students, understanding their individual learning journeys, and helping them grow not just academically, but personally too.

Within the field, I'm especially drawn to teaching anatomy, physiology, and general medicine subjects where real-world connections are immediate and impactful. I love helping students see how the body functions, how systems interact, and how these facts translate into real-life medical care.
  • 8. What makes you a 'Superprof' (besides answering these questions)?

What sets me apart is my unwavering dedication to making biology accessible, engaging, and yes even fun! With 6+ years of teaching experience and over 3000+ successful sessions, I've worked with learners of all levels from school students struggling with basic concepts to pre-med aspirants chasing high-level understanding.

My classes are more than just syllabus completion they're about building scientific curiosity, exam strategies, and real-life connections. I'm proud of the feedback I receive: students often say my sessions feel personal, easy to follow, and unexpectedly enjoyable.

Whether you're aiming for top grades or simply trying to build confidence in the subject, I meet each student with the same care, commitment, and creativity.
