I have spent the last 7 years studying Japanese and have taken several courses at University, and served as the president of my university’s Japan Club.I am currently at N3 proficiency in the language. Language is multi faceted subject to teach. I break down Japanese into Grammer, vocabulary, Kanji (Chinese loan chapters Japanese uses), Speaking, Listening and Reading/Writing. I use methods so that students don’t just memorize phrases, but have a innate understanding of how to construct their own sentences, and like to build a framework for further learning. I explore sentence construction, different grammatical aspects, including the dreaded verb conjugation. I’ve found that building as strong base allows students to feel more comfortable with the language. I utilize the Genki 1/2 books as well as resources for Kanji, and Vocabulary.
