About Habiba

Habiba was born in the UAE to an Egyptian mother and Palestinian father, and has attended British schools, as well as the University of Oxford and Imperial College. Habiba is, therefore, a confident speaker of both English and Arabic. Habiba has acted as a voice actor in a number of Arabic dialects as well as the modern standard actor, and has over 18 years' experience in this field. Habiba's clients include Pepsi Co, Unilever, Mattel, Disney etc. Habiba now works part-time for an Arabic advertising company that specialises in marketing to the Arab consumer. As such, Habiba is well-versed in the intricacies of communication in Arabic with a variety of different audiences and people, and is skilled at contextualising and explaining the linguistic intricacies of what is often a difficult language! Habiba has also worked in the International legal field as a speaker at UN conferences like COP23, the World Urban Forum, and has acted as a youth advocate for Arab women in STEM at the L'Oreal-UNESCO 'For Women in Science' Awards. Habiba is therefore comfortable and confident with the needs of Arabic speakers in international and business fields. Habiba is friendly and outgoing, her students report her to be engaging and fun to talk to. Habiba understands that learning a new language can often be a vulnerable process in which making mistakes (while essential) can often feel embarrassing. As such, she aims to make all her lessons a warm and inviting space, conveying the hospitality and joy of the Arab culture which she calls home.

About the lesson

Habiba is an enthusiastic tutor with over 7 years’ experience who is skilled at identifying and quickly managing foundational gaps in students’ knowledge. Habiba has honed an online teaching strategy that renders it more efficient and effective than in-person learning, such that lessons are recommended to be online. Lessons are ordinarily 1 hour long, but as with all aspects of the lesson, this can be adjusted in order to account for students' needs and goals.

My grade for chemistry was quite low, but she brought it up by miles and I regained a lot of confidence within the subject. She was an incredible teacher; patient and kind and funny. We were able to cover lots of weak points and she helped to refresh my knowledge over some topics I hadn’t covered in a while. She was a brilliant teacher!

My son Adam just finished his IGCSE, his least favorite subject was Chemistry.

He was still in year 10 and I needed tuition and tried few teachers until I found a brilliant A level student Ms.Habiba El Khatib.

Her passion for chemistry and learning were contagious, she’d deliver the information and boost his energy on any day.

The following year Habiba left to the UK to study chemistry. And we continued the lessons online, which proved very useful when Covid-10 hit and we were all in lock down.

Habiba’s professionalism , commitment and knowledge make her the very best for teaching my son or any other student.

I can’t praise her enough.
