My teaching approach is built around one central goal: to help every student play with accurate intonation and a refined ear for pitch. I believe that developing precise pitch is not just a technical skill—it’s what makes the violin truly sing. We begin with careful listening, training the ear to recognize even the smallest changes in pitch.
I use drone practice as a core tool, allowing students to match and adjust their notes in real time. This helps create a strong sense of tonal center and supports confident playing across all positions. Exercises are designed to make shifting smooth and in tune, so that every note speaks clearly and with intention.
For those drawn to contemporary styles or pop vocals, I provide guidance to match the violin’s tone perfectly to the voice, ensuring every phrase blends beautifully. For students with a classical focus, we work on intonation within complex harmonies, especially in ensemble and orchestral settings.
Each lesson is tailored to the individual’s musical path, combining technical drills with expressive playing. I make sure we explore bow control, vibrato, and phrasing, as these elements deepen the beauty of well-tuned notes.
