About M

I love my subject. My enthusiasm and passion for it engages and enthuses my students, that in turn ensures their success. I have headed departments and developed staff to ensure their successful continuation in the field, which in turn ensured the success of the department.

About the lesson

In order to be successful, I take the time to learn about my students, making sure that I have the foreknowledge to engage and enthuse my learners. I then use positive reinforcement to ensure that my learners have the motivation to continue and expand their knowledge of my beloved subject. A typical lesson is an hour, starting with a quick recap of the last, with bespoke activities that are appropriate to test knowledge retention and development. The rest of the session will be introduced and a range of techniques and pedagogical approaches be applied to ensure further attainment. Finally, to round off the session, further exploratory activities will be given to the learner for independent study. I have been a head of department and teacher of computer science of 20 years. In that time, I have taught at all levels and to all UK examination boards, from year 7 through to year 13 (and their equivalents). I have trained and developed staff throughout my career. I have created countless teaching resources that are appropriate to the environment and gained all the qualifications to assure my continued professional practice.
