About Laura
I am a true believer in the power of art to build community.
Coming from a family of artists in my home city of Zipaquirá, Colombia, I have from an early age worked with children and teenagers in schools and community arts academies, exploring different media, techniques and art-related projects including painting, sculpture, dance, theater, and sewing. For the past 4 years and a half I have been immersed particularly in the world of ceramics, working with wonderful artists and instructors in different studios in Colombia in 2022 and in the Chicago area in 2023-2025. I am in a constant learning process, extending my ceramics skills at Lill Street, Morton College, and as a member of the Chicago Clay Co-Op.
