About Evelyn
I am a violin tutor with over 5 years of experience and a DMA in Violin Performance. My teaching focuses on a holistic and therapeutic approach, using music for self-expression and emotional release. Improvisation, journaling, and soundscape creation are tools I use to support mindfulness and personal growth. Lessons are designed for neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adults seeking healing through music. I provide a safe and encouraging space for students to explore their emotions. Each session promotes creativity, intuition, and musical storytelling. Students learn to connect their feelings to sound and musical ideas. The violin becomes a tool for emotional awareness, stress reduction, and personal insight. I integrate technical development with expressive exploration. Lessons encourage self-discovery, confidence, and resilience. Students gain both musical skill and emotional understanding. I help learners experience the transformative power of music. My goal is to guide each student in using the violin as a path to healing and self-expression.

I focus on violin sight-reading, helping students read music fluently and confidently. Lessons cover ledger lines, complex rhythms, and multi-part scores. My systematic approach strengthens visual-to-finger coordination and reading speed. The Musical Theatre Enthusiast and The Worship Singer benefit from tailored exercises to tackle new music instantly. I combine technical drills with practical repertoire to reinforce learning. Students learn to recognise patterns and anticipate notes quickly. Each session emphasises accuracy, timing, and musical expression. Sight-reading becomes an intuitive skill with consistent practice. Lessons are structured, interactive, and progress-driven. I help learners build confidence in performing unfamiliar pieces. I encourage mindful practice to reinforce skills. My approach connects reading ability directly to performance. Students leave each session ready to play new music effortlessly.
