About Vivienne

Hi! I’m a violin tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance (Contemporary Repertoire) and over 7 years of teaching experience. My mission is to help each student develop a strong, expressive musical voice—on solid technical ground. My training is classical, but my approach welcomes Contemporary and Cinematic styles as well. We’ll focus on bow technique, vibrato, phrasing, and stylistic interpretation through music that excites and challenges you. I’m especially experienced with orchestral excerpts and ensemble coaching. Whether you’re preparing for a school audition, a youth orchestra, or your next exam with ABRSM or Trinity, I’ll help you get there with structure, feedback, and encouragement. I also work with students who are learning to collaborate in ensemble settings and want to sharpen their timing and listening skills. The violin is a versatile, expressive instrument—and so is your voice through it. I’ll support you in growing both. Let’s build a journey that’s rooted in tradition and open to creativity.

About the lesson

My violin teaching focuses on playing with purpose. Instead of repeating notes, we learn the theory behind what you’re playing—scales, key signatures, intervals, and chords. This helps students remember better, play more expressively, and practice more efficiently.

I work especially well with singers and musical theatre performers who want to strengthen their musical skills through the violin. You’ll develop your ear, build phrasing confidence, and understand how your part fits into the bigger picture.

Each lesson combines violin technique with theory in action. We focus on bow control, finger placement, and dynamics while connecting it all to harmony and structure. Exam learners get personalized plans that make theory and performance feel connected, not separate.
