About Romy
I’ve been teaching violin for over 7 years, combining my classical training with a passion for modern innovation. My degree, a Bachelor of Science in Orchestral Studies, included serving as Violin Section Leader, which shaped my leadership and ensemble skills. My teaching makes use of technology like slow-down apps, DAWs, MIDI notation, and video feedback. These tools give students the ability to analyse and refine their playing in detail. Recording violin tracks for original songs or covers is one of the most exciting parts of my lessons. I love teaching Jazz Violin, Rock Strings, and Indie Folk, genres that allow for freedom and storytelling. Improvisation is a big part of my approach, helping students find their unique voice. To make practice more engaging, I create custom backing tracks that replicate real performance contexts. Each lesson blends technique, creativity, and exploration. My goal is to help students see the violin as versatile and expressive. I adapt lessons to individual needs, from traditional goals to creative ones. Together, we’ll shape a future of violin learning that includes recording and innovation. Join me on this exciting journey of music-making.

In my lessons, violin students discover their voice through creativity and originality. We focus on composition, arranging, and writing personal pieces. Students also explore non-traditional sounds, bringing fresh textures to their playing. The approach combines technical learning with creative exercises. This balance makes lessons exciting and effective. I work especially well with The Adult Confidence Builder and The Content Creator. Improvisation is introduced as a way to explore ideas quickly. Recording and playback are often used to evaluate and refine. Lessons are structured but always leave room for experimentation. Students learn how to shape ideas into real music. Each session builds both confidence and creativity. The violin becomes a tool for expression, not just performance. The result is a unique and personal connection with music. Together, we’ll compose your own violin story.
