About Noelia

As a Head of the Languages Department and Primary and Secondary Teacher in a school in Leighton Buzzard for over 10 years, I believe I am the right languages tutor for you!

I'm fluent in Spanish, ( my native language) French and English and have spent many years teaching and studying languages. I completed a bachelor's degree in Spanish and English at Manchester/ALmeria University (2008) and studied Spanish and English Literature in school (GCSE and A-Level) so I know how daunting grammar can sometimes feel and how stressful language/literature exams can be... but also how great it feels when you finally start getting it!

On the language side of things, I can help you with your writing, listening, speaking, grammar and exam technique. I can help you with conversational skills if you're just looking to go travelling or make Spanish/French friends.

On the literature side of things, a large part of my degree was literature based, so I would be very happy to help any Literature students, if you are struggling with the subject.

If you're in school and really want to get an A/A* (7/8/9), I can make sure you achieve your goal. Whatever your current grade, an A/ A*/7/8/9 is achievable. I have taught these exams for many years so I know how they work and how you can do well in them. We will work closely with the syllabus and go through some secrets of exam technique to make sure you get a top grade.

Alternatively, if you're wanting to learn languages for travel or business purposes (or just for fun!) we can tailor the lessons 100% to suit your needs. I also teach courses to adults from beginners to advanced and I always tailored to each student's need. I also teach English to foreigners to achieve the Cambridge Examinations ( A1 to C1).

I effectively deliver and plan online outstanding lessons and the feedback that I have received from parents, pupils and adult learners has always been very stimulating. I strongly believe in the student centered-approach as always shown in my lesson plans. I believe that all students are individuals with very specific needs so differentiation has always been at the forefront of my teaching practice. I find very important to address any students’ needs in order to get the best potential out of every single student. I am successful in establishing high expectations of behavior in the classroom whilst still developing positive relationships with my classes.

I love online teaching as well as face to face. I have been doing online experience for the last 5 years and I have helped most of my students to achieve an excellent language level.I use Google Meets, Google Classroom or even Skype for online teaching. I generally send and post great, fun and genuine resources so that the student can access to them easily and successfully.There are so many fun online resources that I could provide you to enhance your language skills, especially in Speaking; what great way to speak the language with a native speaker! You will also gain a broad cultural awareness and your fluency and pronunciation will speed up!

On the other hand, I am a 200hr yoga certified instructor for the last 2 years and I can give you online 1-1 lessons from beginners to more advanced practioners. I can also give the online yoga class via zoom to you and your whole family! If you have children, you will be glad to know that I have trained to teach kids yoga and I have been organising yoga workshops in primary and secondary schools.

About the lesson

I am a Spanish native from Almeria, Andalucia, Spain. I hold a degree in English Studies and I am certified to teach ESOL by Cambridge University. I also hold a GTP ( Graduate Teaching Programme) in Spanish and French. I also hold a QTS and several certified translation courses. I can also teach English as a foreign language and I prepare for the official Cambridge exams from A1 to C1. I have 5 years experience of giving private tuiton to non-english spekers.

I teach through input, repetition and receiving feedback and corrections. I believe that language acquisition is best learnt by learning new structures, repeating new vocabulary and use it in your own way. Making mistakes is always part of the journey and is one of the best ways of learning writing and speaking. I will provide with appropriate resources which are right for your level, and I will also make sure there is challenge in them. You will also learn how to interact fluently and confidently.
I am very open to the way you learn too, and I adapt my teaching style to your needs.
A typical lesson with me would be engaging, based on eliciting information and knowledge from you, so that you are able to retain the language quicker!
