About Timea

I am a very experienced teacher with fifteen years of teaching experience including teaching at different universities (Essex, Salford, Hull). I have been teaching Italian and EFL at various levels, to learners of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds. I am a qualified teacher. During my PhD I completed a postgraduate teaching course. Subsequently, I completed further training in methods of teaching and learning to become a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. For approximately two decades I spent most of my time in Italy, therefore, I am always happy to include aspects of Italian culture in the classes. The classes are in the New Costessey area of Norwich (with free parking), approx. 10 mins from the city centre, or online.

About the lesson

Start Italian from scratch with me for strong foundations and fluency, or refresh and develop your language skills. I can help whether you would like to learn Italian for pleasure or work. Whether you are a complete beginner or already speak Italian and would like to become more fluent, the classes will provide you with the right tools to improve. The lessons will be tailored to your aims, needs and go at your own pace. All classes include plenty of speaking so that you can practise your Italian. I am also good at providing structured explanations to grammar rules and helping you practise these, as well as teaching functional phrases and expressions. I have always loved teaching and deliver fun lessons with enthusiasm, respect and passion. My aim is not only to teach you this beautiful language but to bring the "Italian experience" live for you in the classes and beyond.

We had lessons at Timeas house on a one to one basis for a number of years. We then switched to Skype lessons when she moved to another part of the country. We found her to be patient, good humoured and a very capable teacher of italian. She tailored the lessons to our ability and was happy to adjust the lesson plan to suit us. For example, when we were going to use trains in Rome she gave us a number of lessons on buying tickets, listening to PA announcements and general conversation we might come across at a station. She is well travelled around Italy. Understands the people and customs and fully understands and is able to explain the language. I totally recommend her as a teacher and defy anyone to not improve under her guidance.
