About Selin

I’m a violin tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Diploma in Classical Violin. While my foundation is rooted in classical technique, my true passion lies in exploring crossover styles like Jazz, Rock, Hip-Hop Strings, and World Music. I love showing students how the violin can move beyond tradition and become a tool for bold, creative expression. In my lessons, we dive into improvisation, use looping pedals, and play with sound in fresh, exciting ways. I help students adapt popular songs, write their own solos, and experiment with different tones and textures. Whether it’s layering rhythms or bending a melody to fit a groove, every session brings something new. We work on technique, but always in a way that supports freedom and exploration. I believe that strong fundamentals create a launchpad for creativity—not a cage. I encourage curiosity, risk-taking, and making the instrument your own. You don’t need to sound like anyone else—your sound is enough. Whether you're new to the violin or looking to break out of the classical box, I’m here to guide your journey. About the lesson

My violin teaching approach is built on curiosity, creativity, and discovery. I encourage students to explore sound, ask questions, and find their own voice through the instrument. Instead of strict routines, we use musical games, improvisation exercises, and ear–eye coordination techniques to make learning fun and meaningful.

Each lesson includes moments of sound exploration—tuning into the resonance of open strings, experimenting with bow pressure, or discovering new textures. I guide students in fingerboard mapping to build a strong sense of where notes live and how they connect. Listening is just as important as playing, so we spend time training the ear to recognize pitch, phrasing, and emotional tone.

For those who enjoy learning on their own terms, I provide tools and challenges that inspire independent discovery. Some students are drawn to emotional expression, others to technical mastery or creativity—I support them all.

We build solid technique, but always with room for personal connection and self-expression. Mistakes are seen as part of the process, not something to fear. I celebrate experimentation and help students reflect on what they hear, feel, and create.

Every learner’s journey is unique, and I’m here to guide—not control—it. Together, we turn curiosity into music.
