About Arianne

In first grade, my teacher told me not to become a teacher. So once I entered high school, I started tutoring flute and babysitting. I was also in the SJYS Advanced Flute Choir. Throughout college, I taught at 10 elementary schools, coached at middle schools and high schools, taught lessons to all beginner wind instruments, performed, and worked at KFC. I helped my students get into honor ensembles, youth groups, and college but also enjoyed the ones who just wanted to play video game music. I studied under Cathy Payne, flute/piccolo player of SF Symphony and flute coach SF Conservatory. I performed at Flute by the Sea with Ray Furuta's flute choir, Flutie Tooties. I've also attended master classes with Denis Bouriakov, Jasmine Choi, Viviana Guzman, Leon Buyse, Carol Wincenc, and Julietta Curenton.

About the lesson

Our first lesson will be about me learning about your interests, goals, and what level you are in your playing. My goal for you is to learn multiple genres of pieces but also keep in mind what you like to play. We will work on your technique and fundamentals and I will show you how it applies to your music. My goal is for you to be your own teacher. I will help you with learning how to scaffold your practice so that you can feel improvement in between lessons. After all your hard work, I would like to have at least two recitals with you to showcase your talent!
