About Dominik

I am a Polish violinist and composer holding a Bachelor of Music from King’s College London and a Diploma of Higher Education in Music Performance and Production from the University of East London. As a part of my music degree, I received my instrumental tuition at the Royal Academy of Music under the supervision of Laura Rickard. I developed my ensemble skills, participating in several orchestral projects and concerts including two international orchestral tours in Europe, notably Prague, Czech Republic and in Venice, Italy. I have studied classical composition with a leading figure of contemporary classical music in the UK, Param Vir. Through lessons with Mr. Vir I have obtained a great amount of compositional technique and I am happy to start off and help anyone who is willing to develop in this field. I gained valuable experience teaching students ranging from five-year olds to adults and am committed to finding innovative methods of teaching to adjust to the learner's needs and level. I teach violin, piano, guitar, composition and music theory and prepare students for different exams such as the ABRSM or just for fun!

About the lesson

I am very passionate about encouraging others to achieve their musical potential. I believe that it is never too late to pick up a musical instrument and as a late starter myself, I know it is possible to achieve musical fluency through correct work and practice. Creating and playing music has to be fun and whatever the age is, it should be enjoyable! That's why during my lessons I emphasise the most natural and organic development with the instrument. We're all different and some of us need more time and individual approach than others. During the lessons I always invite my students to explore music beyond the written and obvious, and along the way I introduce music theory concepts as well as sheet reading for those who start their journey. I always create a fun and stress-free environment in which music can flourish and I am ready to prove that you can also be a musician, even just for fun! I enjoy presenting musical concepts that might seem difficult at first, in an accessible and approachable way by using modern-day examples of songs that are recognisable or chosen by the learner. I am happy to work with children and adults, always finding a fun and innovative way to engage with the music.
