About Whitney
I am a violin tutor with over 5 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance. I take a holistic and therapeutic approach, emphasising self-expression, emotional release, and musical storytelling. I incorporate improvisation, soundscape creation, and journaling for personal growth and mindfulness. My students include neurodiverse learners, trauma survivors, and adults seeking healing through music. Each session provides a safe and supportive environment for exploration. I help students connect deeply with their emotions and inner voice through the violin. Lessons focus on expressive development, intuitive playing, and mindful engagement. I encourage creativity, personal expression, and freedom in musical storytelling. Students learn to use the violin for stress reduction, emotional insight, and resilience. I focus on violin teaching that strengthens sight-reading and musical fluency. Lessons cover ledger lines, multi-part scores, and complex rhythms. My systematic approach improves visual-to-finger coordination for rapid execution. Students practise recognising musical patterns and performing new pieces instantly. The Musical Theatre Enthusiast and The Worship Singer receive exercises tailored for fluent reading. Lessons blend technical drills with repertoire for practical application.
