My teaching methods are very different. I adapt to the students' needs and wants. I believe that each student has their own way of learning, so it’s important to listen to the students' difficulties or students that want to learn something new. I start by asking them what they are looking for!

Details

I understand that with the economic crisis, some parents are facing financial difficulties. I have a great deal of empathy for what is happening in the world today. Moreover, I have had more than a hundred students during my ten years of teaching, and I have often had parents who tried to negotiate my hourly rate. Therefore, I have decided to make exceptions if the parents' economic situation is justifiable. Thus, I lower my price only if the student takes at least three or more lessons per week. Teaching is a job that I do very diligently. I closely monitor my students and provide follow-ups via text message and calls with the parents. I therefore ask parents to respect my working hours and, if I reduce the price of the lessons, to take this into consideration. Thank you very much for your understanding!

  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

In 2016, during my final year of the French Baccalaureate, I realized that the exceptional tutors my mother hired were crucial in helping me pass my classes. I had always struggled with learning difficulties, making my academic journey challenging. This experience inspired me to assist other students facing similar challenges, so I began tutoring younger children in French, History, and Sciences. During university, I continued this passion by helping my peers in Psychology classes.

Today, with a decade of experience teaching both online and in-person at two different tutoring schools, I am proud to help students in a variety of subjects (though not math or physics, lol). My approach involves empathizing with my students and alleviating their stress, which has been key to my effectiveness as a tutor. I love what I do and plan to continue as long as possible.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

When it comes to teaching French and psychology, each subject evokes different passionate feelings. Teaching French brings me immense joy as I help students discover and appreciate the beauty of a new language. Even when learning French is a requirement, I strive to make it a fun and engaging experience. My classes are never boring because I focus on making the learning process enjoyable and humorous.

I believe that understanding my students' feelings and tailoring my approach to their needs is at the heart of why I love my job. My students come from various backgrounds; some have intense personal histories, some have learning disabilities, and others may be very shy. However, I have never had a negative experience because I always listen to my students' needs and demands, ensuring each class is a positive and supportive environment.

When I tutor psychology, I enjoy it immensely because it reconnects me with my academic roots from university. Psychology is far more than just essays and exams; it embodies the essence of humanity and explains how people behave and interact. Teaching psychology allows me to gain a deeper understanding of the world and the behaviors of those around me. For me, it's not just about writing stressful essays; it's about helping students grasp the significance of the essay topics. Through teaching psychology, I aim to impart the importance of understanding human behavior and the world we live in.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

Great question. I've encountered many hurdles in my life, both physical and mental, stemming from health issues and other causes. The stress induced by the school curriculum has highlighted for me its profound impact on mental and physical well-being. Tutoring, in essence, resembles being a "school doctor": it not only aids students in achieving academic success but also alleviates the pressure of deadlines and the anxiety of preparing for future steps in life.

I believe tutoring serves as a therapeutic outlet and plays a crucial role comparable to that of a school teacher. I consider myself a "Superprof" because of my abundant empathy; I treat every student as if they were my own child or a member of my family. Teaching is an art that requires patience, dedication, passion, empathy, courage, and discipline. After ten years of tutoring, I find myself not growing tired, but rather improving in discovering more innovative solutions.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you? Please explain.

I don't have one particular role model; however, I had three teachers who inspired me every day. They taught me to appreciate certain fields and also taught me that even if I struggle in a particular subject, hard work, perseverance, and encouragement can give me the confidence to find a way to succeed. These teachers had an inspiring approach to teaching because they knew how to guide students to look towards the future and strive to do their best.
  • What are your keys to success?

Phew! I can't answer without first asking: what is success? In my opinion, the key to success lies in never looking back, but always ahead. Success is defined by our ability to acknowledge when we've achieved something we desired. It means knowing how to silence the inner voices that say we're not worthy. Success is having confidence in ourselves and in our ability to achieve. It requires patience and trust in the future. Success can be something small; it doesn't always have to be defined by great endeavors.
