About IBRAHIM

I am a fully qualified and experienced physics teacher with over 20 years of experience in UK and Overseas schools having taught to the UK and International Curricula. While I am currently self-employed as a private tutor of physics from KS4 to A-Levels, I have just recently completed a 2-year physics teaching contract in an International British Grammar School in Saudi Arabia. Having once served as Head of Science for 4 years in a challenging London school managing a team of seven, I was also coordinating the delivery of vocational BTEC courses as Quality Nominee for the entire school. Currently enrolled on a part-time Master’s in Education programme with the UK Open University, I hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering and a PGCE in Physics. Prior to qualifying in 2004, I had spent some years teaching physics and maths in Nigeria as a young graduate. I will describe myself as a focused and dedicated classroom practitioner who not only enjoys physics but is also passionate about inspiring students to be problem solvers and become the best that they can be. As an examiner, I am in a position to help to coach students the right examination techniques that will ultimately lead to outstanding results.

I utilise digital pedagogy to promote high-order thinking and encourage cognitive conflicts as a pathway to concept development among my students.
