About Simon
J’ai passé six mois en France et un an au Québec. En France j’ai enseigné l’anglais aux deux petites filles. J’ai fait mon bac en relations internationales et mon master en science politique. Je parle l’anglais, le français, et je commence avec l’espagnol et l’italien.
I have been working as an independent contractor and private tutor for several years now. I recently completed my Masters in Political Science at the University of Toronto. I also have a BA in International Relations from UBC. As an undergraduate I was chosen to create and administer my own course within the Philosophy department. This included the creation of a course syllabus, marking, and weekly meetings with students and professors. I was responsible for the learning of twenty students, and it was an excellent experience. For my efforts I was awarded the title of Graduating Student Leader. Additionally, it was a privilege to have my own essay published, and to be asked to present my research at a conference. I learned an extensive amount about writing and editing throughout the process.
I love travelling and spent several months in France teaching two young girls English. While in France I also spent time working on a farm with others that did not share my maternal language (English), which was another invaluable learning experience. During this time I perfected my French skills, aided by the two summers I spent in Québec. I am bilingual (C1 in French) and enjoy sharing my languages with others. I currently study Spanish and Italian in my spare time. I’m a voracious reader and enjoy studying topics ranging from Philosophy, History, and Political Science to foreign languages and Science. Reading, writing, and learning is how I engage with others and the world. I thoroughly enjoy sharing my passions with others.

I work with students and see myself as a facilitator rather than a teacher. It is my job to discover the optimal methods that will help achieve the desired learning goals. I enjoy working with students and their parents to ensure that progress is being made.
As someone that struggled with the stress of wanting to be a high-achiever in school I understand the pressures that come with the process. Whether it’s wanting to attain top grades in high school in order to be accepted into a prestigious university, or applying for Masters Programs and funding, I have been there and can help provide guidance.
